I have been working in the footwear industry for 20 years now, all this time spent at John Lewis.
My journey began by leading the women's fashion and footwear team at John Lewis Oxford Street. I then moved to head office to become the buyer for kids' shoes, closely followed by the buyer role for men's shoes, which ultimately led to my current position as Buying Manager for all women's shoes. In this role I lead a team of buyers to source and develop a range of brands and own brand footwear.
We currently have over 80 brands in women's shoes at John Lewis and over 120 brands when you include men's and kids and sports footwear. We also have our John Lewis brand. We have introduced over 20 new shoe brands in the last 18 months, and we are currently refurbishing our estate to align with our contemporary and premium strategy.
